CMS Performance in 2010/2011 School Year
August 11th, 2011The report about CMS’ performance in last school year at the Board meeting on August 9, 2011, showed how desperate CMS is trying to focus on positive crumbs in overall - EXPECTED (see my blogs of last two years) - disappointing 2010/2011 results, both ABC, NCLB-AYP, and Growth.
For example, great efforts to disect and disaggregate the results, playing down the negligence of our ELP children. The insufficient 2% gain in the graduation rate was celebrated, however, not highlighting the fact that we reduced the graduation requirements.
SAD, … - We need change quickly - Hans Peter Plotseneder, Candidate for School Board

The highlight of the evening was the statement of Board Member Richard McElrath, who wisely and correctly stated that all this comparing with other districts is irrelevant. The fact of the matter is that we are failing our students!!! - He also requested a comparison on a national and international level. - The answer: he should expect it sometimes in the next 18 months…!!! - Yes, not a typo! - Are CMS leaders really so ignorant?
